XJ Saloons
Jaguar's flagship saloon line, in production in one form or another for over 50 years.
The original XJ6 launched in 1968 and is often described as the last car William Lyons personally saw through from concept to production — a synthesis of the ride comfort, quiet, and style Jaguar saloons had been building toward since the 1950s.
The XJ name carried through multiple generations — the XJ40 (1986), X300 and X308 (1990s), X350 (2003, Jaguar's first aluminum-bodied saloon), and X351 (2009–2019) — each modernizing engineering while keeping the long-bonnet, low-roofline silhouette recognizable as an XJ.
Production of the XJ ended in 2019 without an immediate successor, as Jaguar's strategy shifted toward SUVs and, later, an all-electric relaunch — leaving the saloon's future an open question within the brand.
