Where do I find my VIN? On most JLR vehicles, it's stamped on a plate visible through the base of the windscreen on the driver's side, and also printed in your owner's handbook and on your registration documents.

How do I join the forums or message another member? Create an account from the Sign Up link in the top bar — it takes a display name, an email, and a password. Once signed in, you can post in any forum category and start direct messages with other members from the Messages page.

What's the practical difference between a Discovery and a Defender? Broadly: the Defender is built around maximum off-road durability and simplicity, the Discovery around family-friendly comfort and practicality with strong (if slightly less extreme) off-road ability, and the Range Rover around pairing that same off-road engineering with genuine luxury. All three share the same underlying off-road engineering philosophy, applied with different priorities.
